40 people Killed in Warrap clashes

At least 40 people have been killed and more than 40 others wounded in clashes between two rival communities in Tonj North County of Warrap state.
The clashes last week started when a group of armed elements from Marial Lou and Apuk Padhoch in Tonj North County of Warrap State started a fight, triggered by the reported killing of a man along the road linking the two communities.
Police in the area say the two day fighting started on last Tuesday December 26th and ended on Wednesday December 27th.
Warrap State acting police commissioner, Lt Col Joseph Mayei, says the situation has been brought under control…
“The situation is calm now. The Police, army and state assembly members intervened and resolved the conflict.”
