The commissioner in the office of the governor of Gbudwe State is among five people shot dead this morning in a clash between the arrow boys and the SPLA.
Mr Angelo Parakondo was allegedly shot dead by a vigilante group.
Earlier today, residents of Yambio told Eye Radio that heavy gunfire erupted in the town this morning.
This follows a month of relative calm in the area.
A similar gunfire broke out in the town in December, leading to killing and displacement of several civilians.
Residents say the latest shooting started this morning at the outskirt of the town and spread to most of the suburbs.
