Press Release
By Col. William Gatjiath Deng
Spokesperson for SPLA-IO
In the evening of Sunday January 22, 2017, the gallant SPLA-IO forces under Division 3 Commander (CDR) Major General Tut Riik gunned down one of the Juba regime’s military cargo near Nasir. The Juba regime military cargo was carrying enough weapons and ammunitions from Juba to Nasir when the gallant SPLA-IO forces brought down and crashed on the Sobat River.
The military cargo pilot and at least ten other regime soldiers were killed in the crash. Indeed, following the fighting and its demoralising defeat by the gallant SPLA-IO forces at Nordeng, the collapsing Juba regime has been attempting to reinforce and resupply its starving soldiers in Nasir by air.
The ruthless Juba regime has also been trying its level best to expand and exacerbate its brutal and merciless campaign against civilian population in the area. However, the gallant SPLA-IO forces are now in total and complete control of the vicinities of Nasir and have confined the Juba regime soldiers inside Nasir and Wicyardiw with absolutely no access to food and medical attention.
The gallant SPLA-IO forces have also blocked the roads to and from Nasir. In addition, the gallant SPLA-IO forces in and around Nasir and indeed across South Sudan are now professionally capable of bringing down any threat from the air, defend their territories and protect the innocent civilian population from the ruthlessness of the Juba regime solders.
Dear all, I have used soft copy because I have been busy out side the office even the Office seal was not available.
