STATEMENT / PRESS RELEASE
March 31, 2017

Instead of praising SPLM-IO under Dr. Riek Machar who work tirelessly in an efforts to released those innocents Indians men, Indian Ambassador turns around and praise Taban Deng Gai and Salva Kirr?

Here is what he says,

the two Indian nationals – Midhun Ganesh and Edward Ambrose who were
abducted from the Dar oilfields on 8 March were finally released by the
captors yesterday -30 March 2017, after 22 days in captivity.
As part of our efforts to secure the release of the Indian nationals, the
Embassy team was in constant touch with the highest levels of the
Government of South Sudan here in Juba. During the past three weeks,
Indian Ambassador had met the First Vice President Mr. Taban Deng Gai,
the Foreign Minister Deng Alor, Petroleum Minister Ezekiel Lol Gatlkouth as
well as other senior dignitaries in the GRSS in this regard.
Ambassador also made an appeal through the media here in Juba, to those
holding the two Indian citizens, for their unconditional and immediate
release. We are glad that the appeals of all concerned have prevailed and
the release has been secured amicably.
The Embassy of India expresses its profound gratitude and thanks to the
Government of South Sudan, its allied offices and authorities, as well as the
humanitarian agencies who contributed to this breakthrough. The Indian
Government appreciates the positive role played by each and every one of
them.
We reiterate our continuing commitment to efforts in South Sudan’s quest for
enduring peace and development and for the prosperity of the friendly South
Sudanese people.
