2June 21, 2017, Over 200,000 internally displaced are in dire need of humanitarian assistant across Bieh State with food aid, health, sanitation and shelter top the priority list.
Cholera and other water borne related diseases hit the State in Pieri, Karam, Wichjal (Yitdit) with up to 70 death cases reported at the affected locations.
It is to be remembered that the affected populations were displaced from Yuai and Waat by Government troops subjecting the civil population either on the run or settling at open air with no safe drinking water and proper waste management facilities.
WFP and OXFAM interventions are ongoing while MSF and Nile Hope teams are on ground.
The State leadership recognizes efforts by Inter – Agencies actors led by UNOCHA in Buong and Wchjal while appealing for robust respond to curtail the recent outbreak in Wichjal and the nearby villages.
God save us.
