As its forces are being defeated and surrounded in Maiwut-2 by the brave SPLA-IO forces of division five (5) and GHQs Tiger battalion, the ethnocentric regime of General Salva Kiir Mayardit and the Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) is now circulating another lie, that our SPLM-SPLA (IO) Chief of General Staffs, 1st Lieutenant General Simon Gatwich Dual and our Deputy Chief of Staffs for Finance and Administration, Lt. General James Koang Chuol Ranley, ‘have been arrested and detained in Khartoum, Sudan’.
This new lie followed that from a group calling themselves “Jikany Nuer Community in South Sudan and Ethiopia” who earlier on falsely and spuriously claimed that our very own bravest General James Khor Chuol Giet, General Thok Chuol Luak, General Thok Chuol Liah and General Stephen Pal Kun Kek joined the Juba regime in our SPLM-SPLA (IO) Pagak Headquarters.
The purpose of pouring one misleading lie after another into public circulation is to confuse the people of South Sudan and divert their attention and that of the region, African Union (AU), United Nations (UN) and indeed the international community from the ongoing Juba regime military campaign, aggression and offensives against civilian targets and SPLM-SPLA (IO) positions across South Sudan.
In particular, the new and fresh lie from the Juba regime is intended to tarnish the image of Sudan, the Sudanese government and people for their welcoming and accommodating spirit, humanitarian solidarity with and hospitality towards more than 650,000 South Sudanese in Sudan that have so far fled and escaped from the brutalities of the Juba regime. This lie further demonstrates the desperation of the JCE regime in Juba to harvest any excuse for escalating and accelerating the ongoing deployment into South Sudan of the Sudanese rebels.
We in the SPLM-SPLA (IO) condemns this new Juba regime lie with contempt it deserves, and wishes to inform the people of South Sudan that General Simon Gatwich Dual and General James Koang Chuol Ranley are neither arrested nor detained by anyone, any authority or government anywhere.
