By local chiefs over the offensive launches by FVP Taban Deng Gai in Areas of Ayod against the innocence citizens.
January 18, 2018, I Tut Ruei Wieh, the paramount chief of Wau County I’m issued this press concerns over the plans designed by FVP Taban Deng Gai to carry out attacks on innocence citizens in Ayod County as serious violation of recent ceasefire signed in Addis Abba-Ethiopia last year in the hands of rival parties to the ongoing conflicts. In strongest term possible, on my own behalf and on behalf of patriotic citizens of entire community of Gawaar-Nuer, we are condemning that baseless plans and we are identifying it as a way of blocking the most wanted peace which is predominantly demanded by the entire citizens of South Sudan to end the ongoing crisis which has led thousands of people fled their homes to neighboring countries, especially Uganda, Kenya, DRC, Ethiopia and Sudan for refuge. Since the peace mediators are refusing to put actions on Taban’s tour yet his move is very cleared and aiming to destroy our homes that we were been hiding ourselves and cattle which we kept for sustainable living in the areas, we will not tolerate that useless mobilization with no objective for peace in Gawaar land.
Lam Madhak Diew paramount chief of Ayod county (Pajiek), In a simples way, I urging the International community most especially Traika countries, Norway, United Kingdom and United State of America who are often seeing what the government of Salva Kiir and so called FVP Taban Deng is doing, these two men have ran transitional government of national unity for two years (2) yet the indicators are beyond discovery for their failures and interests on how to rule the nation, that they have no political solutions to bring conflicts to end. Beside this, I call for individual sanctions to impose on Taban Deng Gai who is championing ongoing conflicts as the source of gaining wealth for over three years which he hasn’t work for corruption like other times in which he worked as a governor of Unity State before his dismissal by President Kiir in 2013.
We as paramount chiefs of (Ayod Counties) Mogok and Pagil payam are allegedly expressing our concern over the ongoing violation of cessation of hostility signed by rival leaders to bring to an end the conflict and we have admired that was good thoughts of us as South Sudanese who are tirelessly living with trauma due to loss of our loved ones, homes and properties destroyed in fighting for five years and up to now no solutions to it. We call for army embargo on South Sudan government and opposition forces by UN Security Council members. Also, we urge the IGAD members and International Community and United Nation to speed up with the aim to bring everlasting peace to South Sudan so that the victims and survivors can find room to live without gun-shuts and severe poverty caused by the war in the Country.
